Position Title: Systems Administrator
Department: AIT Bioscience LLC – IT Department

The Systems Administrator's role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of AITB information systems and software that support core organizational functions. This is achieved by implementing, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing networked software and hardware. The Systems Administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, resolve problems, and build solutions to maximize the benefit of IT systems investment.


  • Investigate, evaluate, recommend, and deploy hardware and software to meet organizational requirements.
  • Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents; escalate incidents as necessary.
  • Develops, deploys, and supports a standard desktop, common suite of tools and processes.
  • Provides 24/7 on-call support for systems/network administration issues.
  • Performs afterhours installation and maintenance of systems when required.
  • Assist with maintaining, deploying, and troubleshooting IT operational systems including but not limited to A/D, Azure A/D, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Online, WSUS, File and Print services.
  • Provide hands-on support for server and network infrastructure.
  • Analyze problems, and monitors network resources to ensure availability to end-use
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records to adhere to AITB standard operating procedures.


The Systems Administrator has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but provides guidance as needed to the Application Administrators and Business Analyst roles.


  • Extended experience deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting workstations and their correponding Operating Systems and software.
  • Basic understanding of network technologies (LAN, WAN, Wireless, Firewalls, Routers, Switches)
  • Basic understanding of IT operational systems (A/D, Azure A/D, DNS, DHCP, Exchange Online, WSUS, File and Print services, and more)
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly advanced communications skills
  • Effective conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to maintain multi-tasking over an extended period of time
  • Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Ability to analyze and understand data to resolve problems
  • Ability to work in and FDA/EMA regulated IT environment

  • Requires Personal Protective Equipment, as necessary
  • Some responsibilities entail work offsite/outside normal business hours
  • Minimal travel (<5%) is required


Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or relevant experience
• 5 – 7 years of experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent
  • MCSA is preferred
